Francisco Ramirez Selected SWPL Final Man of the Match

LA MIRADA, CA (July 15, 2024) – The Southwest Premier League is pleased to announce Chula Vista FC's Francisco Ramirez as its SWPL Final Man of the Match.

Ramirez, a 6-foot-1 defensive midfielder, captained Chula Vista FC to its first SWPL Finals Championship with a 3-2 win over Soccer Academy Nevada on Sunday, July 14 at Biola University in La Mirada.

“Francisco played quietly composed match and really kept Chula Vista FC in it after they went down 2-0 early," SWPL President Matt Morse said. "It was his headed goal that got Chula Vista back in the game, and his tremendous composure on the ball helped them tie the game and take the lead before holding on for the victory."

Ramirez, 29, is a native of Chula Vista and has previously appeared in two Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup matches for the club.

Chula Vista FC (8-1-0 overall) won its final four matches to win San Diego Premier League this season.
